Your first visit
Friendship, faith and a warm welcome.
City Meetup is an English-speaking Christian community for young adults in Paris. We build friendships and explore life’s questions through the Bible, with Jesus Christ at the centre of our life together.
You are welcome whether you have been part of a church for years, are new to Paris or are simply curious about Christianity.
Rooted in a local church.
We are part of Emmanuel International Church at Rueil (EIC), an international English-speaking church. City Meetup is led by the Young Adults Ministry of EIC Rueil-Malmaison, under the direction and pastoral leadership of EIC Paris. Our Tuesday meetings take place in central Paris, near Châtelet.
Before you come.
Who is City Meetup for?
Young adults looking for friendship, Christian fellowship and space to explore faith in Paris. Our community brings together people from different countries and backgrounds. You can come on your own; you do not need to know someone in the group first.
Do I need to know the Bible or be a Christian?
No previous Bible knowledge is needed. Our gatherings are centred on the Bible and Jesus Christ, and people who are curious about faith are welcome. You can ask questions, share an observation or simply listen.
What language do we speak?
Our gatherings and Bible discussions are in English. We are an international community and welcome people from different language backgrounds.
When and where do we meet?
We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM, Paris time, at Genesis Center in the Châtelet area: 15 Rue des Lavandières Sainte-Opportune, 75001 Paris. Check the specific Meetup event for the latest arrangements before travelling.
How to get there: routes from the North, South, East and West of Paris →
What happens during a gathering?
We share food and conversation, read the Bible and explore questions about life and faith together. We want to know one another, encourage one another and grow closer to God through Jesus Christ. Feel free to bring something to eat and share.
How do I join or ask a question?
Visit EIC-R Young Adult Group on Meetup, join the group and RSVP to the gathering you want to attend. You can contact the organiser through Meetup if you have a question before your first visit.
Studying 1st Timothy together.
Our current Bible study is 1st Timothy. Bring your questions and join the conversation on Tuesday evenings. No previous Bible knowledge is needed. Check our Meetup group for the next gathering and the latest details.
Made for shared conversations.
Our study cards invite reflection, without putting anyone on the spot. You can also revisit the Gospel of John studies from our earlier gatherings. Historical illustrations help set the scene; they are artistic interpretations, not photographs of the events.
Sources & credits
Study notes adapt City Meetup teaching materials. The complete Gospel of John uses the World English Bible Classic, in the public domain. The complete John concordance comes from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, CrossWire edition 1.4, also in the public domain.
Historical illustrations combine ministry-supplied artwork with illustrations created for the missing chapters. Roboto and Staatliches are served locally with their included open-source font licences. Community photographs were supplied by the ministry.
