A few things that help

First time on Paris transport?

  • Match the line and the direction. The destination on the platform sign tells you which way the train is going.
  • Keep your ticket or pass until you exit. You may need it at the RER exit gates.
  • Allow extra time on your first visit. Station corridors, waiting times and the final walk are part of the journey.
  • Coming from another neighbourhood? Use the journey planner with your own address; your best route may be different.

Before you travel

These are usual routes, not live departures. Check service updates for your travel date. Routes and station exits checked against RATP / Bonjour RATP information on 5 October 2026. The coloured line labels help you recognise the network; this is a City Meetup guide.
